Remember the times at the Elbo Room in the early '80's. Crew from Tupper Lake, NY-upstairs with "Mack the Knife". Recall Rod Stewart at the bar drinking early morning "New Years Day"-can't remember the year-possible? Tupper Lumberjack <E-Mail> Tupper Lake , NY USA Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 04:11:24 PM |
Lived and worked in and around the Elbo Room in '64'65... also, Crazy Gregg's upstairs, Pickle Barrel, Sugar Shack, Porkeys, Lenny's GoGo... also Yankee Clipper and several others during that time. Hurricane parties and too much fun to remember. Also owned and operated the "Elbo Room" in little town of Kenbridge, Va.... '79 to '85... Shot a shark while spear fishing, had it stuffed and it hung over the bar... don't know what ever happened to it, I left it there when I moved back home to Virginia. Spent many of Navy leave from Key West, Fla with my buddies at the Elbo Room in 1956 thru 1958 when I was station in Key West, Fla and then we were transferred to Quonset Point, R.I.. Great times and yes I somehow remember the collage girls in that area. Thanks for the memories!!! Johnny Steeb <E-Mail> Lake Forest , CA USA Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 03:30:49 PM |
Lived right behind The Elbow Room in 1968 and 1969. Spent plenty of time on that block. Worked at Broward Drug at other end of the block next to Lums. Attended College there in Ft. Lauderdale. Knew Greg from Crazy Gregs. What a great place to be in the late 60's; good friends, great brew and plenty of girls.

Back in 1968 and 1969 I was in college and lived right behind the Elbow Room. I lived on Banyon Court, a little half-street, down toward the end on the left in a cottage. As a matter of fact, Greg, from Crazy Gregs also lived in these cottages. I worked at the Broward Drug up at the other end of the block next to Lums Restaurant back in the day. In the middle of the block was a place called The Ocean Mist. I spent my 21st birthday going from The Ocean Mist to The Elbow Room to Crazy Gregs. What a time!!! I remember those days well. Some of my local friends were George, Cherokee, Karen, and Marilyn. We had some crazy spring break times while we lived there. Those are memories I will never forget. My roomates, Duke, Pete, and Smitty (Atlas) were frequent visitors at the Elbow Room. Ah, to relive those times again, PRICELESS!!!!

Spent many hours there in the 1960-62 period. Worked at the Lauderdale Beach Hotel during that period. Spent time off at the beach across from the elbow room and lots of time there too. The bartender there at that time was \"Freddie\" who palewd around with the bartender from The Prop Club whose name wasw \"Butter\". ed ditch <E-Mail> zanesville , usa Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 12:45:56 PM |
How about 1955. As a Marine stationed at Opa Locka had my first legal drink at the Elbo Room. My pal Henry Hunter Hunken tended bar. That Schlitz on tap for 25 cents was nectar of the Gods. russell Novotny <E-Mail> napa , cA united States Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 05:52:35 PM |
